WELCOME TO UNIVERSAL TRAINING

Welcome to Universal Training, thank you for choosing us. Now that you have embarked upon a journey of learning with us, our promise is that we will do everything possible to ensure that your training experience is valuable and enjoyable.

The Education Director or your personal Tutor will be your main point of contact during the learning process for all assistance or questions that you may have. The team will be working hard to make sure that should you require any additional information please feel free to call or email and speak with them. All tutors and support team provide you with the highest level of support and encouragement throughout the course or programme. All the team are friendly and approachable.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Participant of this course are solely responsible for their own health, safety and well-being whilst participating.  Prior to use, all equipment (if provided by us) has been thoroughly checked and risk assessed.

Any exercises and workouts described in this course should be used as part of an overall conditioning or strengthening exercise programme. It is the responsibility of any trainer or instructor to correctly screen and identify suitable and unsuitable exercises or training recommendations for each student/sub instructor or client. No responsibility is accepted for any loss or damage suffered because of the use of this information or reliance upon it. It is the responsibility of users to satisfy themselves as to their or their clients’ medical and physical condition, in respect to undertaking the exercises, information and recommendations made.

If you have a comment which you think might help us improve our services, we would like to know. We want you to succeed on your course and to have an enjoyable and problem-free time with us.

However, we realise that some- times things can go wrong and if this happens we want to know about it right away so that we can put things right and to avoid making similar mistakes in the future. We welcome all suggestions which help us maintain and improve our services and all complaints are treated confidentially. Please feel free to complain in the way that you feel most comfortable.

Special Learning Considerations (adjustments)

We are committed to providing access to learning by making reasonable adjustments for students with special learning needs wherever possible. Our policy is to welcome applications from students with disabilities or special needs, and to view applications on the same academic grounds for all applicants. It is advisable that students with dyslexia discuss this with a member of the team prior to enrolling to establish the most appropriate action plan for success. THIS COURSE / WORKSHOP

This course will help develop students to a competent and confident level to help you plan, teach and evaluate a safe and effective session; appropriate health & safety considerations; approaches & techniques & how to set up a class.

This manual uses the correct anatomical terminology, and some of this may be new to you, so we will indicate lay terminology to assist you, for instance when we talk about the clavicle it will be followed by: (Lay term: collar bone) however you should try to learn the correct names wherever possible.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF THE LEARNER?

  • We expect you to arrive on time and to be dressed in appropriate attire.
  • We expect you to have done the required pre course reading and be ready to take the written assessment.
  • We expect you to participate in all aspects of the day and to ask questions when necessary.
  • We expect you to behave in an appropriate manner towards all other members of the group.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF THE TUTOR?

  • you can expect your tutor to arrive promptly, be ready to start on time as per the timetable and to be dressed in uniform.
  • you can expect your tutor to teach each aspect of the course thoroughly, giving progressions and regressions where possible.
  • you can expect your tutor to cater for each learning style – whether you learn better by listening, by watching or by doing.
  • you can expect your tutor to thoroughly answer any questions relating to the course.
  • you can expect your tutor to be an ‘expert’ in the relevant field.
  • you can expect your tutor to adhere to equal opportunities and Health & Safety Acts.
  • you can expect your tutor to assess you with no bias, and give you the fairest chance possible to complete your practical and written assessments.

LEARNING SUPPORT AND REASONABLE ADJUSTMENTS

The disability discrimination Act 2005 (Statutory) defines a disability as being:

  • a physical or mental impairment which has an adverse effect on the person’s ability to carry out day-to­day activities
  • The adverse effect of the disability must be substantial (that is more than minor or trivial)

The disability rights Commission (drC) produced a list of possible impairments in 2005 which included:

  • Sensory impairments
  • fluctuating medical conditions (e.g. epilepsy)
  • dyslexia, dyspraxia (dCd), autistic Spectrum disorder (aSd) & attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (adhd)
  • The effects resulting from injury to body or brain functions
  • mental health conditions and personality disorders

The education Act (1996), Section 312, defines Special educational needs as a learning difficulty requiring Special educational provision to be made. A learning difficulty is also defined as:

  • a significantly greater difficulty in learning than the majority of people of the same age
  • a disability which prevents or impedes a person from making use of educational facilities provided for others

Indigo Fitness aims to provide sufficient assistance where possible for any person needing learning support and/or reasonable adjustments. details would need to be provided at least 7 days prior to the course so necessary adjustments can be made.

I AM DISSATISFIED, WHAT DO I DO?

Misunderstandings can often be sorted out on an informal basis. Don’t be afraid to contact the Education Manager, there is a strong possibility that we can resolve your issue quickly and efficiently. To make sure that all complaints are handled efficiently and fairly, we ask you to register a complaint within 7 days so we have the best chance possible of resolving the issue.

Indigo Fitness prides itself on the quality of education that it delivers. our overall aim is to provide the best service possible, and to constantly improve on our practises. in order to maintain the highest standards we ensure that all of our tutors are regularly monitored to ensure that their quality of work is high and company standards are being adhered to. We encourage all participants to complete a feedback form so we can constantly improve our services and products. We are committed to dealing with negative feedback quickly and efficiently so as to improve the service we offer.
